You cannot write the history of pentecostalism in Africa without mentioning the name Idahosa. Today the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa is a household name, he was a charistmatic preacher and founder of Church of God Mission International. After he died in 1998, his wife the iconic Margaret Idahosa continued his legacy.
On Sunday, she celebrated her 75th birthday and it was fanfare. Idahosa is not just Africa’s first female archbishop, she is also the Chancellor of Benson Idahosa University.
She was inducted into the ministry on 24 May 1983 and became a Bishop on 5 April 1998. She is also a writer with many books under her name.
She has openly admitted that she is fulfilled because she is doing what God ased her to do and her children are in the ministry.
Idahosa has four biological children and three adopted children. At 75, she still remains strong and healthy.
