Polio: Wife of Kaura Local Government Chairman applauds women


The Wife of the Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Kaura Local Government, Mrs Mariam Katuka, has commended people of the area for the support they accord polio immunisation programmes.

Katuka, made the commendation on Monday at Tachira, while flagging off this year’s fifth round of polio immunisation exercise, said the support from the people was overwhelming in view of successes recorded so far.

She noted with satisfaction that Kaura LG was leading in the polio immunisation exercise in terms of performance and appealed to stakeholders to sustain the good spirit to secure the health of children in the area.

In an address, the Chairman, Social Mobilisation Officer and the Agwam Takad, Mr Tobias Nkom Wada, drew the attention of staff administering the vaccine to the need to be resolute in their efforts to achieve success in the polio immunisation exercise.

Earlier, the Director, Primary Health Care of the Local Government Area, Mrs Rahap Kurmi, urged parents to rise to the responsibility of ensuring that their children remained healthy at all times by making sure they receive all vaccines.

Kurmi called on them to ensure that they adequately patronise Kaura Local Government health facilities as the facilities were built for their use. (NAN)
