Statistically, every three hours, a woman is murdered in South Africa. Following the murder of University of Cape Town student Uyinene Mrwetyana, there has been a public outcry against rape in the country.
The 19 year old student was murdered by a 42 year old post office worker who raped her.
She fought back and the accused hit her with a scale which caused her death. He dumped her body which was later found after he confessed to the murder.
