This is the Reason Why the Women of Game of Thrones is an Inspiration to Young African Women

If you have not seen the latest episode of Game of Thrones, please stop here, spoiler alert.

Over the years, we have seen a lot of women emerge on the series, their characters grow and transform. We have seen these women at their lowest and at their best.

Throughout the series, no episode was as electrifying as Season 8, Episode 3. Lyanna Mormont faced a Goliath and she conquered. She didn’t choose to run to the crypt like the other women and children, she stood in front of the gates and gave orders like the best of them.

In the end, even when the giant was about to consume her, she exhibited one last act of bravery and it was outstanding. Bella Ramsey reaffirmed all the reasons why we love her character and will continue to love her.

Arya Stark, first of her name, slayer of the night king. She was fierce, she was afraid at some point but she didn’t let her fear stop her. In fact, her fear was what propelled her to killing the night king.

Maisie Williams flawlessly delivered her role with an interpretation reserved for acting legends. She went into character and exhibited a dose of what we all need in our lives. The result of hard work and dedication. She became ambidextrous so that she could accurately deliver her fighting scenes.

All through the series, we have looked up to Deanerys for the strength of womanhood and how to lead a group of people. Characters like Brienne remind us of the sacredness of dedication and Sansa is the embodiment of calculative wisdom.

Now we have more female characters to look up to and admire. Even Gilly empowered herself and suddenly she is no longer the wimp always running behind Samwell Tarly.

Young African women especially those following the series need to combine all these characters exhibit and harness it for the development of their families and society at large.
